Cross slide DRO. For Myford series 7, Super 7 lathe no drilling required

Cross slide DRO (X axis) for Myford series 7 lathe, using existing holes on the Myford series 7 lathe (no drilling is required). Can be used as an occasional attachment or a permanent fixture, it has several fixing points that will cover turning, boring and milling operations for the full length of the cross slide. I have placed the unit under the top slide as this would minimise obstruction, however I think that wherever it is placed some compromises will exist, and if using the cross slide table for milling, the top slide will probably be removed so that the display is not obscured at all.

This digital readout is intended for the model/amateur/Myford engineer. Where the unit is fixed in the pictures it will cover turning from the maximum dia. Of 5 to ΒΌ past the centre, that would cover most external, internal and facing operations without re-positioning and can be quickly reset inwards or outwards to cover the whole cross slide travel and milling table operations, If you are generally using a 4 way tool post for instance, you would position the slide fixing in a different tapped hole to enable the cross slide to travel its full length inwards. You will notice that the readout travels beneath the top slide and becomes obscure, you just need to position it so that it covers the 72mm unobscured travel.

This unit is made from a brand new budget Digital caliper, which I disassemble and clean and tidy up and adjust the slide, it is as accurate as any full on DRO. That I have ever used in my 41 years in engineering, (with DRO available). The design is based on my carriage DRO.

That I have for sale on E bay. Super 7 models have the compound slide angle adjustment screws on the side and placed horizontally, would you please state if you have this type as I supply slightly different fittings and a replacement grubscrew for easy access. All fittings and screws are included, as are fitting instructions.

If you order 2 or more items don't pay until I reduce the postal cost on your invoice. And I can usually supply within one week. Please also view my other DRO's & accessories for MYFORD series 7/S7 lathes on E bay.
